Air Compressor Reviews

There are two classifications of air compressors, and which one you choose to purchase or use depends on both your budget and on the application for which it is intended. The first class is referred to as positive displacement compressors, and these come in three different types; rotary screw, rotary sliding vane, and reciprocating. These types of air compressor work by building up air in a holding tank and then forcing it out quickly in order to increase pressure. If you think about your lungs, and the way that you can take a deep breath and then blow it out very quickly, this is the elemental function of a compressed air machine.

The second most common class of compressor is the dynamic style, and these types of machine include the centrifugal variety. In this case, the air is held in the same way as with the positive displacement types, but the method of speeding it up is different. With the dynamic class of air compressor, there is a device which speeds up and slows down the air as the user needs it. Be sure to check any air compressor reviews that might pertain to a model that interests you before you buy it. Consider the job that the machine will be asked to do, and buy accordingly. For instance, is you merely want a compressor for your garage, water or paint sprayer, or other smaller jobs, you don't need an enormous unit.

Pneumatic tools are the most commonly used with air compressors, and these include such implements as sprayers, staplers, ratchet wrenches, sanders, and nail guns. The larger portable units are common for emergency breakdown mechanics and house washers, or any other field job which requires the use of portable compression power. The larger stationary units that you may see in shops, factories, or manufacturing facilities are likely to power everything from sand blasters to paint guns and everything in between.

There are two-stage air compressors and one stage varieties. The one stage types compress only the amount of air that you use during your session, and these tend to take a bit longer to reach ready than do two stage machines. The latter type allows the user to store unused air in its compressed form in between uses, and are therefore recommended for those who need compressed air more often. Be sure to do your research and learn as much as you can in order to get the best results from the compressor you choose.
