Agriculture Irrigation Equipment
Combines have revolutionized the agricultural industry during this century, and vast modern improvements are occurring and developing each and every year. Some fear that the tractor has been pushed aside by the combine, but this is simply not the case. Farm tractors are an essential piece of agriculture equipment, one which is needed for the implementation of the countless components that the farmer needs to keep his crops planted, growing, watered, fed, and harvested with as little fuss as possible. Irrigation, for one, is one of the most important factors for growing healthy crops, and this task is made difficult without the use of the amazing farm tractor.
Firstly, there are tillage implements which are attached to and lead by the tractor, and these prepare the soil for the planting of new crops. Sometimes this includes the tilling under of starter crops. Tillage components include the most popular and important plow, which has been used in one form or another for over 250 years. This tool loosens and aerates the soil for planting, and also assists in the killing and removal of weeds. Chisel implements and offset discs have also become prominent in the agricultural industry in the U.S. of late.
Irrigation agriculture equipment includes the next set of components, consisting of planters. These pull behind tools ensure an even depth and spacing to the planting of seeds and seedlings. Normally, seeds are mechanically planted exactly the same space away from each other, usually 2 to 3 feet apart. In the case of the drilling type of planter, seeds are placed in a more dense concentration, closer together, such is the case with hay, alfalfa, clover, and the like. This allows for a heartier, heavier crop, whereas the spacer implement will work well for soy and corn. There are also transplanters, and these are meant to plant tender seedlings, usually through plastic mulch or sheets.
Fertilizers and pesticides will most likely be applied throughout the growing season, and such handy agricultural equipment implements as the hay bailer will allow farmers to cut and bail stray and hay three to four times during the summer and fall. Irrigation is an all important strategy for the success of any crop, and there are different tanks, pumps, and motors which are used to feed water, either through low sprinkler systems or through huge sprinkler arms which are pulled to different locations throughout the field with the use of a tractor.
